About these terms

These Website Terms apply when you visit or use leoneconnect.com. In these terms, “Leone Connect”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Leone Connect Publishing and the authorized people providing its website and publishing services.

Our current services include public publishing information, professional enquiries, verified author intake, Dispatch subscriptions, approved media and learning resources, and rights or permissions administration.

By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the website. These terms do not by themselves create a publishing, agency, employment, partnership or commercial relationship.

How our terms work together

These Website Terms govern general use of the public website. The Author Portal & Submission Terms apply in addition when an author creates an account, uploads a manuscript or uses a protected submission workflow. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information and manuscript records are handled.

If Leone Connect and an author later execute a separate publishing agreement, that agreement governs the accepted project. Where it expressly conflicts with these Website Terms or the Author Portal & Submission Terms, the executed publishing agreement prevails for that project.

Purchases, licences, permissions, professional services, events, distribution arrangements or other transactions may have additional terms presented through their authorized process. No future service term applies merely because a service is described on the website.

In practice: Browsing is governed here; protected submissions have their own intake terms; an executed publishing agreement controls an accepted publishing project.

Website information

The website provides information about Leone Connect Publishing, its catalogue, contributors, programmes, rights, permissions and related activities. We aim to keep material accurate and current, but website information may be corrected, expanded, withdrawn or updated without notice.

A listing, catalogue status or “forthcoming” notice does not by itself mean that a title is published or available to order, that a price or publication date is final, that rights are available, that a contributor is accepting engagements, or that Leone Connect has agreed to provide a service.

Permitted use

You may access and use the website for lawful personal, educational, editorial and professional-information purposes. You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest information unlawfully, impersonate another person, or use the website to infringe rights or break the law.

We may restrict or block access when reasonably necessary to protect the website, our records, other users or our publishing operations.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, Leone Connect or the relevant rights holder owns or controls the website’s text, design, branding, metadata, images, cover artwork, audio, video and other content. Website access does not transfer ownership or grant a licence for commercial reuse, republication, adaptation, recording, translation, dataset creation or redistribution.

Limited quotation or other use may be allowed by applicable law. Any additional permission must be obtained through an authorized rights or permissions route. Third-party names, marks and material remain the property of their respective owners.

Submissions and communications

Unsolicited manuscripts and creative submissions are not accepted unless an official submissions page clearly states that a category is open and identifies the authorized method. Sending material through email, general enquiries, social media or another route does not create a duty to read, review, preserve, return or respond to it.

The Contact form is provided for genuine publishing, rights, media, education, institutional, partnership, author, availability, website and accessibility enquiries. You must provide accurate contact information, choose the appropriate route and must not use the form to send spam, unlawful content, confidential material, payment information or unsolicited manuscripts.

When an official submission route is open, use only the secure Author Portal and review the Author Portal & Submission Terms before uploading. Ordinary enquiries do not create a contract, confidential relationship, agency, partnership, publishing commitment or rights option.

Electronic records and agreements

We may record the policy version accepted, checkbox confirmations, account events, messages, file checks and stage approvals made through an authorized workflow. These records help establish what was communicated or approved and when.

A routine portal confirmation, workflow label, editorial message or production-stage approval is not by itself a publishing agreement, transfer of copyright, licence to publish, guarantee of publication or promise of payment. A binding publishing relationship requires a separate agreement executed by Leone Connect and the author or other authorized rights holder.

In practice: Portal actions can document a decision, but publishing rights and financial obligations arise only from a separately executed agreement.

Sales and external services

The website does not currently process customer orders, customer purchasing accounts or payments. Verified author accounts, secure manuscript intake, Dispatch subscriptions and approved media or learning-resource downloads operate under the terms, consent and policy notices presented at their points of use. A future store, retailer link, event registration or partner service will be governed by the terms presented through that authorized service before a transaction is completed.

Links to independent websites and services are provided for convenience or context. We do not control their availability, security, content or terms and are not responsible for them except to the extent required by applicable law.

Availability and responsibility

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the website for maintenance, security, editorial or operational reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that all website information will always be complete, current or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, Leone Connect is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from reliance on general website information or from inability to access the website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or any mandatory consumer or statutory right.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These general Website Terms are governed by the laws of Sierra Leone, subject to any mandatory law that applies.

The courts of Sierra Leone have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these general Website Terms. This means proceedings may be brought in Sierra Leone without preventing proceedings in another court of competent jurisdiction where applicable.

A purchase, publishing agreement, rights licence, service, supply arrangement or other transaction may contain its own governing-law, forum and dispute provisions.

General provisions

Headings and “In practice” summaries are provided to make these terms easier to navigate. They do not replace or narrow the full provisions in the relevant section.

If a provision is held unlawful or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay or failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms when the website, our services or applicable requirements change. Material revisions will carry a new effective or revision date. Where reasonably practicable, a material change affecting an account or protected submission workflow will also be communicated through the portal or the account email address, and renewed acknowledgement may be required before further portal use.

An update does not retroactively transfer rights or create a publishing or payment obligation. Rights and obligations already established in an executed agreement remain governed by that agreement.
