Effective August 10, 2026 · Revised August 15, 2026
This policy explains what personal information is used by each Leone Connect Publishing service, why it is needed, how it is protected and what choices are available.
Privacy at a glance
No data sales
We do not sell personal information or authorize unrelated marketing use.
No automatic subscription
A Contact enquiry does not add you to Leone Connect Dispatch or another marketing list.
Protected manuscripts
Private submissions remain quarantined until verified safe and are not used for public or third-party AI training without a separate opt-in.
Practical choices
You can request access or correction, unsubscribe from Dispatch, or ask to withdraw an uncontracted manuscript.
Scope of this policy
Leone Connect Publishing (“Leone Connect”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is responsible for personal information handled through the website and publishing services we control.
This policy covers public website use, professional enquiries, verified author accounts and manuscript submissions, Leone Connect Dispatch, rights and permissions requests, media enquiries, and access to approved learning or media resources.
“Personal information” means information that identifies a person or can reasonably be linked to one, such as a name, contact details, account record, professional information, online identifier or manuscript-related record.
This policy is a privacy notice, not a request for blanket consent. Where consent is appropriate, we ask for it through the relevant service and record the policy or notice presented at that time.
In practice: The policy follows the service you choose and the information needed to provide it.
Information we receive by service
General website use
Hosting, authentication and security systems may receive technical information such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, referring page, timestamps, session or authentication data and security events. Search words may appear in the page address, browser history and ordinary server logs.
Contact and professional enquiries
When you use the Contact form, we receive the details you provide. These may include your name, email address, telephone number, organization, professional role, country or territory, enquiry category, related title or programme, reference link, preferred response method, decision date, subject and message. Limited security, spam-prevention and delivery information is also recorded.
Before submission, most typed details are temporarily saved in session storage within the current browser tab so a draft can survive a refresh. The draft is not sent to Leone Connect until you submit the form, can be removed with Clear saved draft, and normally disappears when the tab or browser session ends. Privacy consent and security fields are not restored automatically.
Author Portal and manuscript submissions
We receive the account details, manuscript information, files, declarations, permissions information, messages, decisions, approvals and workflow records needed to verify the author, secure the submission, conduct editorial review and administer a potential publishing project.
Leone Connect Dispatch
When you subscribe, we receive the details requested on the subscription form, which may include your name, email address and selected interests. We also record consent, verification, delivery, preference, unsubscribe and security events needed to operate an accountable subscription service.
Rights, media and resource services
For rights, permissions, media, educational or protected-resource requests, we may receive your identity, contact details, organization, professional role, intended use, relevant title or asset, territory, format, audience, deadline and supporting information. Access and download events may be logged for security, rights administration and service accountability.
How we use information
We use only information that is relevant and proportionate to these purposes. Contact enquiries do not add a person to Dispatch or another marketing list.
We do not sell personal information. We do not currently use site-owned advertising pixels, cross-site behavioural profiling or optional marketing analytics.
- To deliver, maintain and secure the website and the service you requested
- To route, answer and document professional enquiries
- To verify author accounts, screen files and administer editorial review and publishing workflows
- To verify Dispatch subscriptions, deliver requested editions and honour preferences or unsubscribes
- To evaluate and administer rights, permissions, media, educational and resource requests
- To maintain appropriate editorial, consent, contractual, security, financial or legal records
- To prevent misuse, investigate incidents, improve service reliability and comply with applicable obligations
International service delivery
Website, email, storage, security and professional services may process information in a country different from the one where you are located. Where applicable, we use reasonable contractual, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and service involved.
How long information is kept
A record may be kept longer when it forms part of an active publishing, rights, permissions, contractual, financial, complaint, dispute or legal matter. Retention and deletion may also be suspended for an appropriate legal, contractual or dispute-related hold.
We send advance notice before a scheduled author-account, manuscript-file or portal-record deletion. If the notice cannot be sent successfully, the scheduled deletion does not proceed automatically. When a hold ends, a new advance-notice period begins before deletion can occur.
- Routine Contact-form enquiries are normally deleted 12 months after the enquiry is closed.
- Unverified author accounts that do not own a manuscript are deleted after 30 days.
- Secure files associated with withdrawn or declined manuscripts are deleted after 90 days, while a limited audit record may be retained.
- Records for accepted, contracted or published works may be retained for seven years after the latest recorded activity.
- Dispatch subscription details are kept while the subscription is active. After an unsubscribe, a limited suppression, consent or delivery record may be retained as reasonably necessary to honour the opt-out and demonstrate service history.
- Technical, authentication, delivery and security records are kept only for the period reasonably needed for the relevant operational or protective purpose.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or another right available under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the records or service concerned before completing a request.
You may unsubscribe from Dispatch through the link provided in each edition. You may also ask us to update communication preferences, withdraw an uncontracted manuscript or close an account. Necessary transactional, security, rights, legal or active-service communications may still be sent.
Some information may need to be retained when required for security, consent evidence, contractual administration, accounting, dispute resolution or another lawful recordkeeping purpose. We will explain the relevant limitation when responding to a request.
Approved public information
Contributor biographies, photographs, quotations, title credits or professional details become public only through an approved publishing, contributor or media process. Information submitted through a private enquiry, author account or manuscript workflow is not made public merely because it was submitted.
If you provide information for an approved public profile or announcement, use only details you are comfortable having published and contact us if an authorized public record needs correction.
Security, incidents and external services
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures appropriate to the service and information involved. No internet transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security, so please use the authorized route and avoid sending information the service does not need.
If a security incident may materially affect personal information, we assess the event, take proportionate containment and recovery steps, preserve appropriate records and provide notices required by applicable law.
The website may link to independent retailers, platforms or other services. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Children’s privacy
The website may describe books and learning materials for children or young readers, but the current services are directed to adults and are not designed to collect personal information directly from children. A child-directed service would require separate safeguards, consent rules and policy updates before activation.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a current service without appropriate authorization, use the privacy enquiry route so we can investigate and take suitable action.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when a service, security control or applicable requirement changes. Material revisions will carry a new effective or revision date and, where reasonably practicable, will also be communicated through the affected account or service.
Submit privacy questions or requests through the Website & accessibility route in the professional Contact form. Include the service or record concerned, but do not send passwords, payment credentials or unnecessary sensitive information.
Anonymous reader-action counts
Leone Connect counts selected first-party actions—such as opening a discovery result, following a title, opening Dispatch, purchase, enquiry, rights or learning-resource routes, saving a reading-list item, using citation tools or choosing a share control—to understand which publishing pathways are useful.
Only daily aggregate counts by public record, action and broad site area are stored. No IP address, email address, account identifier, cookie, browser fingerprint, referrer, query string, page-view trail or individual event record is retained. The site uses no external analytics service for these counts.
