Author guidance
Prepare a clear, complete and reviewable manuscript submission.
This centre explains the publishing programme, the secure submission process and what authors can expect after a manuscript enters the Leone Connect editorial workflow.
Current intake status
Verified authors may submit through the secure portal.
Before you submit
01 · Fit
Choose the appropriate programme
Review the publishing programmes before submitting. Leone Connect develops nonfiction, ideas and education; fiction and literature; poetry and young-reader work; and selected entertainment and media projects.
02 · Readiness
Prepare a coherent manuscript
Submit the version you want the editorial team to assess. It should be readable, internally consistent and complete enough for the proposed work to be understood.
03 · Context
Explain the work clearly
Prepare an accurate title, work type, intended audience, word count, synopsis and author statement. These details help Leone Connect understand the manuscript without replacing the manuscript itself.
04 · Responsibility
Confirm that you can submit it
Do not submit material you are not authorized to share. Identify third-party text, images or other material that may require permission, and never include passwords, financial records or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
How the secure pathway works
-
Create and verify your author account
Registration requires the current Privacy Policy and Website Terms. A single-use email link verifies the address before a manuscript can be submitted.
-
Complete the manuscript record
Provide the requested bibliographic and editorial information, then upload a PDF, DOCX, ODT, RTF or plain-text manuscript within the displayed size limit.
-
Security quarantine
The uploaded file is locked. Editorial access begins only after an authorized operator records a completed security scan and matching SHA-256 checksum.
-
Track editorial progress
Your private dashboard displays the current stage, author-visible history, requested actions, released documents and secure correspondence for your own record.
-
Respond through the record
If Leone Connect requests a revision, upload the eligible response through the secure manuscript record. Every replacement file returns to quarantine before editorial access.
Editorial stages
A manuscript may move through submission, security screening, initial screening, editorial review, revision, decision, contracting, editing, design, proof review and production stages. The sequence reflects the work actually completed for that record; it is not a promise that every manuscript will reach every stage.
A submission is an invitation to editorial consideration. It is not a publishing offer, acceptance, contract or guarantee of publication.
Frequently asked questions
Does submitting a manuscript guarantee publication?
No. Submission begins an editorial assessment only. Any later publishing relationship requires a separate written agreement.
Can I send a manuscript through the general contact form?
No. When intake is open, manuscript files must use the secure Author Portal. General, rights, media and website enquiries should continue to use the professional contact form.
Why is my uploaded file locked?
All manuscript uploads are quarantined by default. The lock protects authors, staff and the website until the required security scan and checksum verification are recorded.
Can another author see my manuscript?
No. Author accounts are restricted to their own manuscript records and released files. Authorized Leone Connect staff manage the editorial workflow.
How will I know that the stage changed?
Author-visible changes appear in the private progress history. Eligible workflow updates also send a service email to the verified account address.
