Programme 04

Entertainment & media

Story-led projects shaped for performance, screen, audio and new forms of cultural expression.

Publishing that moves beyond the page.

A rights-aware home for stories whose natural audience may listen, watch, gather or participate.

This programme extends the house’s editorial standards into audio, performance, screen and carefully chosen media collaborations. It includes both adaptations of published work and original concepts developed for another form.

The governing principle is simple: story comes first. Format, production scale and partnership model should follow the audience, rights position and creative purpose of the project—not the pressure to appear everywhere at once.

What we publish

01

Adaptation & performance

Book-originated work considered for stage, screen, dramatic audio and live presentation through authorized rights partnerships.

02

Audio & editorial media

Audiobooks, documentary or educational audio, interviews and story-led formats that deepen access to the work.

03

Original cultural projects

Selected concepts for entertainment, learning and public culture developed with the partners and disciplines the form requires.

Expansion must preserve the integrity of the original work.

Every project begins with a rights check, a defined audience and a realistic development path. We distinguish early concepts from commissioned production and make responsibilities, credits and approvals explicit.

  1. 01

StoryA strong premise and a clear reason for the work to exist in its chosen form.

  2. 02

RightsDocumented authority for adaptation, performance, recording and distribution.

  3. 03

FitA format and partner model appropriate to the audience, material and available resources.

  4. 04

StewardshipFaithful credit, cultural care and quality control across every authorized version.

How selected work is developed

For commissioned or confirmed projects, editorial development is shaped around the work itself. These stages describe the questions and responsibilities that guide the process; they do not represent an open call for submissions.

  1. 01

    Define the story and audience

State the premise, intended experience and reason the project belongs in audio, performance, screen or another medium.

  2. 02

    Establish the rights position

Document ownership, adaptation authority, contributor permissions, credits and approval responsibilities before production commitments.

  3. 03

    Design the development path

Match format, scale, partner roles, budget assumptions and decision points to a realistic route from concept to audience.

  4. 04

    Protect quality across versions

Set editorial, cultural and brand standards so every authorized expression remains coherent with the originating work.

What guides our decisions

  • Why is this the right form for the story rather than simply another outlet?
  • Are all underlying, adaptation, performance and distribution rights documented?
  • Which partner capabilities are essential, and where do creative approvals sit?
  • How will the project preserve credit, cultural integrity and audience trust?
